Hey everyone!
We flew into Freeport on the island of grand bahama yesterday
afternoon. It's pretty quiet around these parts because it's not the
popular tourist time for most. It's nice to have most things to
ourselves though. We are staying in this beautiful hotel on the top
level with our balcony overlooking the ocean. Such a tough life us
taleffs lead! ;) Last night we went to a restaurant across the street
from where we're staying, stuffed ourselves with piƱa coladas,
daquiris and pizza, then decided we would walk around explore a bit.
Bad idea. It's been pretty overcast since we've been here and we ended
up running off our pizza and drinks on the way back to the room
(because of the storm). Apparently all of the buildings look the same
in the dark though because we got a little lost. (In reality our
building is about 8 stories higher than the others) and I could have
sworn our drinks weren't that strong! We had achieved the drowned rat
look and found our way back to the hotel. We "partied" ourselves out
and were in bed by about 930. Today, we woke up to heavy winds and
overcast. Once we decided we were going to go lay outside, we were
there for, oh a solid eight minutes when the storm rolled in. It was a
very relaxing day inside with a book. We just got back from dinner.
This time, the rain wasn't dumping so we didn't have to run. But we
are hoping to go back out and party a little bit. Who am I really
kidding though? Myself. I'm with momma suz. She has one glass of wine
and is asleep on the table. Anyway, tomorrow we're hoping for
sunshine. Sorry for the novel, but until next time... Cheers!

Seasonal
a loud crunch
sounds beneath my feet
a warm, crisp breeze
flows through the strands of my hair
there's a sharp contrast
in the colors outside,
laughter is ringing loudly
as leaves rain through the air
red and yellow pigments
form a vibrant orange
releasing sweet, earthy flavors
that form on the palette
leafless trees have flooded the roads
while new colors have developed;
snow clings to the earth with every flake
and angels are present everywhere
sounds beneath my feet
a warm, crisp breeze
flows through the strands of my hair
there's a sharp contrast
in the colors outside,
laughter is ringing loudly
as leaves rain through the air
red and yellow pigments
form a vibrant orange
releasing sweet, earthy flavors
that form on the palette
leafless trees have flooded the roads
while new colors have developed;
snow clings to the earth with every flake

Oldie But Goodie
I was just in Boulder, Colorado visiting my great friend Jen and her boyfriend. Not only is Jen one of my dearest friends, but she is also someone I have been friends with the longest. I love when you have the kind of friends that no matter how much time has passed from the last time you spoke or visited each other, you can pick up right where you left off. Or the ones who you can laugh with until your bellies hurt, and have bubble gum blowing contests just like you did when you were kids. Nothing else is involved, just the simple deliciousness of big league chew and a good laughing partner. That's when you realize, nothing else is better than having a true friend.
